Relationships: The Rules of Attraction

We've all heard of the so-called rules of attraction but something is telling me that it may be a load of wash. If a person sits back and really thinks about attraction, romance, and love; a different picture comes to mind, A whole new thought process takes place. I now believe that anyone can fall in love. What I mean by this is a straight person can fall in love with a gay person, a gay person can fall in love with a straight person, people of different faith and religions can fall in love, even different races. We've all witnessed these types of things happening. Given the right set of circumstances, you could find yourself in love with the type of person that you never thought you'd be with, in a billion years. We have these ideas of who we want to lay next to at night or for the rest of our lives but the person you or I may be dreaming of, might not be the person for us. Have you ever watched a movie where two absolutely straight people start feeling attraction to each other because of a single moment? It would seem that it's not that they're gay, they have just fallen in love with that particular person of the same sex and they say things like: "if it's not that person, I wouldn't do it" or "I just want him by my side always". A racist person could find themselves in love with a member of a race that they've hated all their lives. A businesswoman can fall in love with one of the most dangerous criminals in the world and not even be remotely afraid of him. I guess what I'm trying to say here is the next time you see someone on the street, in the store, at church or across the hall, don't think about the things that you don't find appealing about a person, try to look for something that makes you take a second glance. Maybe he or she has a great smile but terrible skin. Maybe he or she a little loud but have the most beautiful eyes or hair. Maybe he or she is too thin or too thick but they dress as well as a model. Let's just forget about the rules of attraction because they simply aren't real or they aren't fair. Maybe you have someone that you like and you're afraid that it might not work out because you two are as different as different as night and day. I say go for it because there's always the time when night and day meet. I may be a hopeless romantic but I know how it feels to love outside the box!

Love Struck?

I had an interesting experience last night. I met a guy who actually gets me! We sat together and talked for hours. When I say hours, I really mean hours. I had to go to work today but I was out with him until four.  Maybe I'm still riding the wave of getting only three hours of sleep, but I'm really feeling him. I was totally pulled in. He was just amazing. I listened to him talk and share things about his life and I was just memorized. The thing is, I met him on a dating/social networking site. We decided to meet in person. Get this, this all happened on the day that I decided this "site" wasn't for me and I was about to delete my account. What is this? Destiny? I think maybe this was love at first site or lust. But I can honestly see myself with this guy. I'm the first one to question and over-analyze things but something is telling that this maybe the real deal! What do you think?

Am I Imagining Things? Or Is He Really Cheating?

I promised myself that if I ever got involved again, that I would play it cool. I have to admit, in the past, I was all too eager to think the worst. Now that I look back, I realize that maybe I had it all backwards. Perhaps my intuition was in overdrive. Every woman should be in tune with her mind, body and soul. If you feel like something fishy is going on, chances are something is actually going on. Now I don't want to cheat anyone out of happiness, but are you really happy when there are so many little things nagging you in the back of your mind? What if you ask questions but get run-around answers? What if you ignore the obvious and live in denial? You keep telling yourself that the storm will blow over. Here's another scenario ... what if you get active?  What if you set out on a mission to protect your heart? What if you open your eyes and see him for who and what he is? How can you protect what’s yours if he is still playing the field? Slow down... really think about
